James Scanlon

I personally have gone through my own personal renaissance and re-assessment over the past five years.

My early art career consisted of painting people, incorporating a black sense of humor. Today, I endeavor to focus on the positive rather than the negative.

The growth of my art is in direct proportion to the growth in my personal life. I try to paint with a consideration to light and color; the two mainstays of our gift of vision. During the combination of these dual qualities, a third dimension inexplicably emerges.

I sincerely hope that my paintings suggest many things to many people; ultimately enhancing our perception of the world around us.
