My paintings are filled with images that make me feel good. There is enough sad, bad and scary in this world, just watch the news. So I want to give myself and those who look at my paintings, the chance to escape it all and have fun; a mini vacation. I have always loved television, especially old Doris day and Elvis movies. I also love and respect the photo-realist movement of the seventies and the original photo-realist…Caravaggio. These things, combined with life itself, have become my inspiration for my paintings.

I received a bachelor of fine arts in photography, and thought that would be enough, but in just a few years, I decided I needed more...a new way to express myself...but I did not want to give up my camera. So I took a hint from the photo-realists and started to use my photographs as my inspiration. I finally felt complete.
